Keeping the Beat

I was able to catch my little man playing his various instruments. Here he is playing them in order of likeness:

When he plays the harmonica, he dances around and stops to sing between performances. So adorable to watch! The keyboard, his 2nd favorite, is where he first started. Usually he plays along to one of his dad's beats. They're a good team :-) The Guitar, on the other hand, is more difficult so he kind of plays it like that. And finally, the xylophone. He is happy if he just manages to strike a note or two. A lot of times he gets caught up under those metal plates. It came as no surprise, his interest in music, because Dada Jeremy is a very talented musician as well.

Rewinding My Mind

Tristan is definately going to be a musician. He is playing the harmonica now, too! Here is a few goofy pictures I took in the past few days:

I had to capture this little stunt on camera because it brought me back in time, and I was in the shelf, giggling and sqirming. It's like "I know what that feels like", and "I remember what that looks like from his point of veiw."

Mother's Day

Quite deserved, I should say, too. The house is pending sale after just one week. But the past month has been so rough, I was at my peek of frustration with this place! So much to do! And keeping up after everyone's messes so that the house looked presentable at any given moment was the worst! But little Tristan was my sunshine through the gloom. I invited my sweet A.K. over Saturday for a BBQ (My husband at the grill). She brought a 7lb chocolate cake *yum!* I went to bed that night knowing that the kitchen wad full of dishes, and I didn't care.
Sunday, though, I sat on my bum with my boy in my arms. All day those dishes sat in the sink unattended. I played hide and seek, tag, and explorer with Tristan. His own present to me was genuine, too. He didn't wet a single diaper all day. It was all on the toilet. He didn't even wet himself during his naps. But you want to know what's so funny about that? He won't poop in his little training toilet, only in the big throne and only in the one on the basement level bathroom. He also refuses to just pee in the big toilet, so he'll pee in the training toilet, only if it's in the basement level bathroom and only if I sit on the big one, too. I tried moving his potty to the main floor bathroom and he apparently decided that that room is strictly for baths because he'll hold it till I bring the potty back down the stairs for him. Silly guy. At the end of the day, my father-in-law ended up doing the dishes in my husband's stead (Jerm DID do all the cooking mess.) So I think I had a great mother's day weekend!

Toilet humor

The most amazing thing happened last night! I took him to the bathroom last night to work on a little potty training. He peed (a little) and after praising him, I rewarded him with some naked time. I left the bathroom door open and the light on, just in case. Around 10 minutes later, my little guy walked to the toilet and lifted the seat, turned, and looked at me expectantly. Loyally, I went to him and sat him on the big toilet. He looked so cute with his whole abdomen appearing missing. Kerplunk! Plink! Plink! Kerplunk! I was so surprised! As he finished up, he looked right at me and said, "nnda!" which, translated, means: "all done!" So, we cleaned up, waved bye-bye to his poopies, and clapped for his 'Job' well done. Then off we went to tell Dada and grandpa. He does this by clapping and saying "phbphbphbphb" (lol! I don't know how to spell that sound very well!) Today, he peed in his diaper once and has been naked most of the day. I'm so proud of my boy!

Melting My Heart

Well, I have some catching up to do! We've been so busy preparing the house for sale, I haven't had a chance to sit still. I captured this moment of a budding interest my Toddling Terror has found:

My little tyke is walking everywhere now, too! We just pulled the carpet up and he just does not like crawling on that hard floor. Have you ever tried repainting a house with a bouncy boy in tow? WAY too hard! But somehow, I managed to keep his little fingers out of the paint buckets.

And he's become accustomed to his red heat light during his bubble bath. Isn't he cute!?

I'm adding little "Captured Moments" entries in my Hobbit journal. I'd like to get some more footage of him doing these amazing things, but every time I get the News Camera out, that's all he thinks about.
